Jeenmataji temple is situated near the hill 10 km from village Rewasa.It is surrounded by thick forest and mountains called ARAVALI parvatmala.The jeen mata temple is in sikar district of the rajasthan,India which is in south of rajasthan.The jeenmata temple,is said to be thousand year old.Thousands of devotees come here for whole year and specially in the month of chaitra and Ashvin during the Navratri.There are a numbers of Dharamsalas to rest or for stay with your family.
There is a Intresting belief among people regarding Jeen mataji temple.It is said that centuries ago,in village Ghangu in Churu ,there was a king named Ghangh.He have two childrens son called Harsha and a daughter Jeen,there is an unbreakable love between them.Slowly and steadly both of them become young,the brother harsha got married.There is an strong bond between sister-in-law and jeen,but as we all know it is not accept by god ,and one day when both gone to take ,water from village well,they bet each other that to whom harsha loves much more.Now according to bet they decided the harsha loves more to whom he relieve first.After reaching home Jeen lose bet.She decided to leave home and where she stops and perform Tapasia(tap),is now a days known as Jeen mataji,and beside this on the top of mountain eight k.m(8km) from temple Harsh bharva temple located.
There is another Intresting story regarding this is king Ganggh of village Ghanghu of churu,married an Apsara on the condition that he would not visit her place without prior information.King Ghangh got a son called Harsha and a daughter Jeen.Afterwards she again concieved but as a chance would have it king Ghangh went to her palace without Information and thus violated solemn vow he had made to Apsara .Instantly she left the king and fled away with her son Harsha and Daughter jeen whom she Abondened at the place where temple situated. Later the Chauhan ancestors built the temple.
It is said that mugha emperior Aurangzeb wanted to collapse the building of temple,being alarmed by priests of temple,the mataji let out its army of bhairons(a family of bees)which brought the Emperior and his soldiers to their knees,and donated akhand oil lamp to temple.This lamp is still glowing in the sacred santorium of the mata.
The another temples in sikar district are KHATUSHYAM TEMPLE AND SALASAR HANUMAN TEMPLE.
